-NEPAL Project- Jim’s Projects, Inc fully supports the efforts of a very wonderful organization called The Himalayan Cataract Project. They work in Nepal with their partner eye hospital called The Tilganga Eye Centre. It is run by two world-class eye doctors by the names of Doctor Sanduk Ruit from Nepal, and Doctor Geoffrey Tabin from the USA. They help people throughout the region, in Nepal,Tibet, China, Bhutan, and Northern India. The “Mission” of The Himalayan Cataract Project is to eradicate preventable and curable blindness through high-quality care, education, and the establishment of a world-class eye care infrastructure. It is a truly remarkable and wonderful program, and one that we at “Jim’s Projects” look to support in every way possible in the months and years to come. They do more good to help those in need than can be described in this website. One of the things that “Jim’s Projects” strongly desires to do is fund “Eye Camps” whenever possible. An “Eye Camp” is when the doctors, along with a team of medical assistants, trek up into remote areas of the mountains of Nepal, Tibet, and India, and through a relatively simple procedure that Doctors Ruit and Tabin have perfected, restore the sight to many of the regions neediest people. And they do it all for free! As I said, it is a very wonderful program. It is one of the most inspiring and touching things you will ever witness, to see a long-blind old man or woman see their grandchildren for the first time. The good doctors change the lives of everyone that they touch. We feel very happy and privileged to help this worthy program in any way that we can. If you would like to learn more about how you can also help Doctor Ruit and Doctor Tabin, and support The Tilganga Eye Center and the The Himalayan Cataract Project, please go to www.cureblindness.org to see a full description of their work. Every dollar is important, and even $18 can buy the lenses to restore the sight to one wonderful human being. $18 to completely change a life! That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
